A dedicated glaucoma specialist, Dr. Devindra Sood practices glaucoma exclusively. He joined the Glaucoma Imaging Centre, initially as a clinical fellow in glaucoma for three years and then stayed back as a full fledged consultant. He came to the Glaucoma Imaging Centre from the reputed L. V. Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad, where he trained as a glaucoma specialist. Dr. Sood has also worked as a tutor in the general ophthalmology at the Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai,Tamil Nadu , the largest eye hospital in the world.
Dr. Sood deftly handles his clinical work which includes children with glaucoma, people with advanced, high risk and complicated glaucomas. Versatile with the latest in glaucoma diagnostics, he has judiously tailored the same in the day to day management of glaucoma patients in the Indian perspective. Dr. Devindra Sood focuses in providing cost effective and practical solutions to those with various kinds of glaucoma, so that they may achieve and maintain a high level of independance, confidently.
Awarded the A. C. Agarwal trophy, twice for his work in glaucoma " Long term outcome of glaucoma combined procedures - a five year retrospective analysis " presented at the scientific session of the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (1998), and again in 1999 for " Drug induced angle closure glaucoma", Dr.Sood was declared a " Distinguished Resource Teacher" by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society in 2003 .
Dr. Sood has over 50 publications on various aspects of glaucoma and is one of the seven international contributors to the perimetry book "Visual Field Digest", Fifth Edition, 2004 published by Haag Streit International a book which deals exclusively with Octopus perimetry and "Glaucoma following penetrating keratoplasty in Corneal Transplantation, Edited by Rasik B Vajpayee, Namrata Sharma, Geoffrey C Tabin and Hugh R. Taylor (2002).
